The Horus glass guide

Choose glass that belongs in your bathroom.

Start with how the room works. Then choose the clarity, hardware and details that make the enclosure feel considered.

Hinged door or sliding door?

A hinged door offers a simple opening action but needs clear space for its swing. Review the vanity, toilet, towel hooks and entrance together. Hinge selection depends on the door dimensions, weight, glass thickness and mounting conditions.

A sliding system can help where a swinging door would conflict with nearby fixtures. It requires a compatible opening and hardware layout, and its track or guide becomes part of the cleaning routine. Availability and fit are confirmed during design review.

A fixed walk-in panel creates an open entrance. It does not make every shower splash-free: the showerhead position, spray direction, opening, drainage and bathroom layout all matter.

Clear glass or low-iron glass?

Standard clear glass can show a green tint, particularly at its edges. Low-iron glass reduces that tint, which may be noticeable beside light stone or pale tile. Compare samples against your actual finishes when deciding whether the difference matters to your room.

Low-iron describes optical appearance. It is not a self-cleaning treatment and does not remove the need for regular care. Ask separately about any protective coating, its care instructions and warranty terms.

How thick should frameless shower glass be?

Thickness is part of the engineered enclosure, not an upgrade to choose in isolation. Common frameless hardware families support specific glass thicknesses, including 3/8-inch and 1/2-inch on some models. Each product also has its own size, weight and mounting limits.

Horus reviews the glass and hardware together before fabrication. Thicker glass is heavier; it does not make unsuitable hinges, wall support or clearances acceptable.

Make the hardware feel intentional

Horus offers CRL and FHC hardware selections. Choose the product family and finish with the shower design, then compare it with your faucet and other bathroom fittings. Polished chrome, brushed nickel, matte black and brass tones create different effects; available combinations vary by product.

Bring a photo or finish sample if a close match matters. The same finish description from two brands is not a promise of an identical color or sheen. Handles, hinges and support details should be approved as a coordinated set.

Try the layout before committing

The Horus studio lets you start from a bathroom photo and explore your shower concept. The preview is for design communication. Horus confirms dimensions, support, hardware compatibility and clearances on site before the production design is approved.

Your room. Your measured design.

A photo starts the conversation. Final dimensions are confirmed on site.
